Review of Tribunals Operating in Wales
(29 January 2010)
The Welsh Committee of the AJTC has today published its first Special Report which reviews tribunals operating in Wales.
Devolved tribunals in Wales must be independent of government and the other agencies if they are to be truly effective, the Welsh Committee of the Administrative Justice and Tribunals Council (AJTC) announced today, publishing its first Special Report since its inception in June 2008.
The report seeks strong and informed leadership from the Welsh Assembly Government in establishing a single focal point for administrative justice in Wales and more streamlined management of tribunal services. It also argues that learning lessons from appeals, complaints and redress would make for better initial decision-making to reduce the need for appeals.
It is published in both English and Welsh and is available to read or download on the Welsh Publications Page. Hard copies are available free of charge from the London office.
